This information was given at the International Conference - Southeast Region Research and Innovation Day "Strategic technologies to promote sustainable industrial development" today, October 28. The conference was organized by the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, the Department of Science and Technology, the Center for Industrial Revolution 4.0, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and CMC Technology Group.
 
High-tech pillars, digital transformation, green transformation
According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tho, digital transformation and green transformation have become two parallel pillars in the current context. The two values ​​help shape the competitiveness of each country and each city.
 
Mr. Tho said the parties discussed the application of digital technology, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology. These are also green solutions to promote sustainable industrial development, build renewable energy infrastructure, manage waste effectively, and move towards a circular economy.
 
This is also a strong affirmation of Ho Chi Minh City's commitment to promoting public, private and international cooperation, mobilizing technological, financial and intellectual resources to realize sustainable development goals.
 
"As the largest economic center of the country, Ho Chi Minh City is a pioneer in implementing these orientations. In which, the High-Tech Park plays a key role as a driving force, a place where technology, intelligence and creativity converge," Mr. Tho emphasized.
 
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho requested the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park to soon deploy the project "Dual transformation: digital transformation, green transformation of the High-Tech Park towards the first Net Zero model in the country".

Call for digital transformation - green transformation together
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ky Phung, Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, said that the theme of this year's conference is not only a strategic orientation but also an inevitable requirement, which has decisive significance for the development of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.
 
Therefore, it is not only an opportunity to share knowledge but also a call to "jointly pioneer in digital transformation - green transformation", spreading the spirit of innovation to the business community, connecting intelligence and resources from domestic and international partners.
 
Associate Professor Dr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, said there are three strategic pillars of sustainable technology in the new era.
 
In which technology is the driving force, the connection between the state - enterprises - institutes, schools and the innovation community is the method with the biggest goal of sustainability in production, investment and regional development.
 
Along with academic discussions and parallel activities, the conference acts as an open innovation ecosystem connecting ideas, startups, commercialization and technology transfer.
 
The Southeast University Innovation Idea Competition attracted more than 70 teams from 13 schools in the region. The Startup PitchFest 2025 program connected 10 technology startup projects with investment funds and international corporations.
 
On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park also held a technology exhibition with 60 "Make in Vietnam" booths demonstrating the research and production capacity of domestic enterprises.
